The happy olive tree
In the season 2013/2014 we had a poor olive crop on Crete: sand storms from the Sahara did a lot of harm to the blossoms, and the oil was about 60% less. This year however, the trees are heavily loaded with fruit, and we’re looking forward to a tremendous amount of oil. Considering the upgoing price per kilo to be expected, there might be some reason for the farmers to be happy. After the first rains, at least this tree is!
